On 4 May 2015, the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City celebrated the opening for the China: Through the Looking Glass exhibition within its Costume Institute. Madonna attended the event dressed in Moschino and decked in Lynn Ban and Jennifer Fisher.
At the Costume Institute Gala Benefit, Madonna wore a custom-made off-the-shoulder Moschino graffiti print column dress with a cape. The gown was designed by Moschino creative director, Jeremy Scott and it was inspired by the brand’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. New York artist and Madonna’s late friend Keith Haring would have celebrated his 57th birthday that night, hence Madonna and Jeremy Scott decided to honour his memory with the graffiti design.
After the benefit gala, Madonna opted for another Moschino look as she partied the night away at Rihanna’s private after-party at the Up & Down nightclub and at Lady Gaga’s after-party at the Paramount Hotel’s Diamond Horseshoe nightclub.
